The best pictures often come when I'm least expecting them but by keeping half an eye open to what's going on outside the viewfinder I try to anticipate the decisive moments. In the shot above, a cat was making it's way along the bottom of the wall when they suddenly noticed it their reaction added a new dimension to the image.

 

The image below came from a completely manufactured situation. Getting the boys to stand in their dad's shoes was an idea designed to inject a bit of comedy into the shoot. As a photographer trained to create images that jump off the pages of newspapers, I'm happy to try all sorts of techniques - and it's a bit of fun for the kids..... I always want to leave the kids with the feeling that they've had a great time.
