"Photographing for a business or editorial client is less about my style - it's all about yours.
Any commission starts with your brief - how and where you want to use the pictures - and what the pictures need to do for you. What is the style of your publication? What is the story you are telling? What is the message you want to get across to your customers?
My job is to interpret that and get the best images possible within the constraints of the time and budget available, delivered to you on time, in a format in which they can be used appropriately. And whether it is a wind turbine, a Chief Exec, a china mug, or a cashmere shawl ... the images need to be of great quality, creatively composed - and useful.
In a world crowded with visual imagery - in the press and on the web - yours really need to stand out. People want to see pictures - web sites with meaningful images consistently out perform those without. Magazines want high quality images if they are to feature your product. With the right picture a business story can be transformed from a side column to a page lead.
Arabella Dymoke, editor of the Good Web Guide casts her critical eye over thousands of sites every year and says that "high quality, professional and seamless photography is of vital importance when creating a new website - as are a good, fast search engine, good archive retrieval, interactive commentary and all social media channels." It's interesting that she mentions photography first!
I understand that delivering the images to you is not necessarily the end of the story and I have developed long term relationships with many of my clients - especially the smaller ones who may not have a dedicated marketing or PR department - where I can work with the client on a range of issues to get the most value out of the images. I can also consult on such issues as setting up a mini studio for clients to take their own product shots or managing an image database.
Please do get in touch with any enquiries - and see the testimonials page for some kind words from previous clients."
